Pine plywood is a versatile material suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. For interior projects, it’s commonly used in furniture framing, shelving, crating, paneling, and cabinetry. When it comes to exterior applications, it’s often utilized in specialized construction, including subflooring, siding, and roof sheathing. Pine plywood is also found in environments like boxcars, truck floors, and soffits, where moisture resistance is crucial, though structural rating is not necessary. Although pine is a softwood, it has a relatively dense composition. Depending on the project, it can be rated for either structural or non-structural purposes. It is generally favored for projects where strength is a priority over aesthetics.
